International

·         International Association of Law Libraries (IALL) holds a conference in a different country each, their Annual Course in International law Librarianship. IALL arranged a law session at the IFLA Conference for many years and recently, together with the American Association of Law Libraries, helped to create the Section of Law Libraries within IFLA.

 

·         International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) has a Section of Law Libraries which is Section 48 of IFLA and part of IFLA Division II: Special Libraries. The Section was established in 2005 at the initiative of the International Association of Law Libraries (IALL) and the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) after several years as the IFLA Law Libraries Discussion Group.

Other IFLA Sections include: IFLA Section on Library and Research Services for Parliaments and the IFLA Section of Government Libraries.

 

·         INT-LAW: International Law Librarians List. INT-LAW is an e-mail list for the discussion and sharing of information concerning foreign, comparative, and international legal resources. INT-LAW is an open, public list with over 900 subscribers. Subscribe/join INT-LAW via http://listserver.ciesin.columbia.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A0=int-law.

·         Association of Caribbean University, Research and Institutional Libraries (ACURIL) includes an informal law librarians subgroup.

·         Caribbean Association of Law Libraries (CARALL); related list is CARALL-TALK; was at www.carall.org until July 2004

·         Consortium of Legal Resource Centers and Legal Information Specialists of Central and Eastern Europe (CLRCLIS); current Chair is Ligita Gjortlere, Law Librarian at the Riga Graduate School of Law in Latvia and IALL Board Member.

·         European Information Association (EIA); "The European Information Association is an international body of information specialists whose aim is to develop, co-ordinate and improve access to EU information...A worldwide membership includes public, academic and government libraries, information units of professional and voluntary groups, European Documentation Centres, Euro Info Centres, local authorities, publishers, companies and law firms".

·         EURO-LEX: the All EUROpean Legal Information EXchange electronic discussion group; subscribe/join EURO-LEX via http://www.listserv.dfn.de/archives/euro-lex.html.

·         Nordiske juridiske bibliotekmoete; the Nordic Law Librarians' Group meets every 3 years; the 2009 meeting is in Finland in 2009
